Workshop on “Responsible Innovation and the Governance of Socially Controversial Technologies”

“Under the British Council and FAPESP Researcher Links scheme we will
be holding a workshop on “Responsible Innovation and the Governance of
Socially Controversial Technologies” in UNICAMP, Campinas, Brazil on 19
- 21 MARCH 2014. The workshop is being coordinated by Prof Phil
Macnaghten (UNICAMP, Brazil and Durham University, UK) and Dr Jack
Stilgoe (UCL, London), and will have contributions from other leading
researchers (Prof Marcelo Knobel, UNICAMP, Brazil; Dr Marko Monteiro,
UNICAMP, Brazil; Prof Brian Wynne, Lancaster University, UK; Prof
Richard Owen, University of Exeter, UK).

We are now inviting Early Career Researchers from the UK or Brazil
(within the State of Sao Paulo) to apply to attend this workshop
(defined as researchers [postdocs or professors] who have completed
their PhDs within 10 years). All travel and accommodation expenses will
be covered by the Researcher Links programme. The application form, and
call for participants, with more details on the initiative, are attached
and should be sent both to Phil Macnaghten (p.m.macnaghten@durham.ac.uk)
and Jack Stilgoe (j.stilgoe@ucl.ac.uk j.stilgoe@ucl.ac.uk) before the
deadline of 06 DECEMBER 2013. Please note all activities will be held in
English.”
